The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it is actually alarmed about the significant number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The company point produced for intervention experiences a large influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the office to status sassa attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more assets to enable the servicing of all shoppers and boost entry to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
